After the Storm
Copyright 2010 Russell Leslie Howells
Boats fight for space
in the crowded estuary
And just as in the burbs
you have good neighbours
and bad
Some folk live aboard
but most don't
And those that don't
usually make up the
bad
Their boats left unattended
moorings unchecked
The slightest storm
or hint of bad weather
And their boats come adrift
crashing into others
Before running aground
or on the rocks that surround
And after they're rescued
settled safely away
Their owners don't even
bother
with a Thanks or G'day
