Winter Rain
Copyright 2010 Russell Leslie Howells
Dark,ominous clouds,gather and disperse
Their late winter downpour welcomed
The lingering drought breaks and
a sun baked earth relents
absorbing moisture
through thirsty
pores
Quenched,the parched paddocks
celebrate with a flurry of growth
The warmth of a winter sun
aids the crops vigorous
ascension toward
heavenly
skies
