Propelled by mechanical means

through prehistoric land that time forgot

I feel as though I am tresspassing

and deflowering the earth's very soul

The sheer rugged immensity of her gorges

leaves me deflated in her shadows

chilled to the core,I ponder

 mother natures ability to overpower

Gums ascending skyward

from a vertical bed of weathered granite

roots encased in deep red fissures

imbibing cool,filtered moisture

Water everflowing from heaven to sea

over ancient land and deep abyss

fighting and flowing with tides that never wane

their power unharnessed by man

Crocodiles basking on mangrove banks

sullen,still,waiting till we near

before sliding into familiar territory

approaching,skirting-unseen but poised

Emerging from the Kimberley canyon at days end

skimming over sand bars towards our yacht(Yaminga)

we witness the suns vivid departure

and give heartfelt thanks for
